Place the microfiber pad on the bottom of the pad tray and then attach the pad tray toward the back of the machine.

I hear a clicking noise, should I be concerned?

No, the clicking noise is normal and it means that the pump is working

Where does the water go in at?

At the top of the unit there is a rubber plug which is capping off the water tank.

The unit is 1500 watts; does that mean its blasting out 1500 watts of steam?

No, there is a regulator that controls the amount of steam released. Most vacuums run at 1500 watts and most steamers at 800-1500 watts. This together would blow a fuse. A vapor steam is produced and the vacuum runs off of air as opposed to electricity. This allows for both functions to work simultaneously.

When is the high pile carpet tray used?

The high pile carpet tray is only used for high pile/Shag carpeting. This is to raise the unit off the carpet so it does not cause a snag in the carpet. If you do not have shag carpeting should try their SV60 on the carpet. If the unit pushes without resistance they do not need the carpet tray. If you experience resistance then please have them attach it.

Is this a carpet extractor or shampooer?

No. This machine does not dispense water or detergent. It uses steam to sanitize, refresh and deodorize your carpets while debris is suctioned off of your floor by the vacuum.
