How do I put my STEAM STATION together?
The main steam tank, adjustable pole, collapsible hanger, and steam tank base are the main pieces to put together when first receiving your unit. First, the widest end of the telescoping pole slides into the steam tank base, and the base ring must be turned and tightened until secure. The hanger is to be inserted on the top of the pole and pressed down until stable. The crossbar of the hanger locks into place at the center. Screw and lock tight against the center pole. The steam tank canister locks into place on top of the base similar to pieces of a puzzle. The steam tank canister will snap into place by pulling the black clasp back while sliding the tank into the designated slot. Once in place, the clasp is to be released, locking the tank into place. Pull the base "wings" out for stability.
Why is the steam head dripping water and/or leaving my clothes wet?
The best way to steam your garments is to hold the steam head vertically to avoid excess moisture from dripping. If the steam head is used horizontally or at an angle when steaming your garments, water droplets may drip from the unit leaving your clothes wet, therefore it is not recommended.
Why is my pole loose?
On the base unit there is a black threaded base ring that is cone shaped. Once you have placed the pole inside the base ring, tighten the top portion of the base ring by turning it until the pole is secure.
The hose is very easy to bend and feels flimsy, what is it made of?
The inside of the hose is made of aluminum which is flexible. The outside is made of velour which works as an insulator but will also stay cool to the touch.
There is a strange smell when I used my STEAM STATION for the first time, is this normal?
Yes, there may be a slight odor emitted during the first use.
Can the STEAM STATION be used for other surfaces, not just garments?
Yes, the STEAM STATION has many attachments that are not just made for garments. Haan considers this product to be a "Garment Steamer and Home Sanitizer" because it is portable. With the STEAM STATION you can sanitize beds, curtains, linens, toys, camping gear, blankets and so much more. A deluxe attachment kit is also available for sale that can make this unit even more versatile with microfiber cleaning bonnets, a steam expander nozzle and a squeegee attachment.
Can I use this on materials that are very delicate like silk or lace?
You are able to use the garment steamer on delicate materials, for example lace and silk. It is recommended that you always use the steam head in an upright, vertical position on these delicate fabrics. If the steam head is tilted downwards, it is possible that water droplets could fall onto the garment and damage the fabric. Also, if a gurgling sound is heard while steaming, hold the steam head away from the garment while checking for any kinks in the hose. If the hose is bent, water droplets can collect in the wand. If this occurs, extend the hose upward so it is no longer bent and allow the condensation to clear.
