Yes, the carpet glide tray comes with the SLIM AND LIGHT so that you can sanitize your carpets, rugs, mattresses, sofas, etc.

How long does it take for the SLIM AND LIGHT to heat?

The SLIM AND LIGHT reaches temperature (212 degrees) in under 30 seconds.

Is the clicking/thumping noise I hear normal?

Yes, this is just the sound of the water pump forcing water through the heating element to the base of the unit. Often times the sound will lessen after the unit heats up, but if it remains throughout the duration of the steaming, it is perfectly normal.

Why is the HAAN SLIM AND LIGHT leaving my floor wet?

Make sure that the pad is not attached to the unit when you are heating it up. This can cause your pad to become saturated very quickly and leave your floor wet. Pads need to be changed when they become overly wet.

How often should I change my Ultra-Microfiber pad?

Pads need to be changed about every 10-15 minutes. If you notice that your SLIM AND LIGHT is leaving behind excess water or your unit becomes difficult to push, place a new pad on your machine.

How many watts does the SLIM AND LIGHT use?

The SLIM AND LIGHT uses 1200 watts. (The FS-20 uses 800 watts, additional electric used to pump water from water tank to the base of the unit.)

Is there a way to adjust the height of the SLIM AND LIGHT?

The pole does not adjust height; the unit is 46.5 inches tall when assembled. The pole does slide out easily to use the SLIM AND LIGHT above the floor easily on areas like mattresses or counter tops.

What are the red and silver packets I received, and how do I use them?

These packets are fresh rinse lime and scale remover. Depending on the frequency of use, use one packet every 3 to 6 months. Pour a packet of lime and scale remover into a tank with one cup of water and shake the water tank. Sitting the SLIM AND LIGHT on the black resting mat, allow the solution to steam out through the unit to clean the inside of the unit and remove and potential lime and scale build up inside the SLIM AND LIGHT.

Do I have to use distilled water in my HAAN floor sanitizer?

You may use regular tap water with your HAAN, however we recommend that you consider using distilled water if you live in an area with hard water. Using the lime and scale remover can help lengthen the life of your HAAN when using regular tap water.

How long does a tank of water last, and what is the tank's capacity?

The water tank holds 13.5 ounces of water, and this will last for about 25 minutes of steaming.

Can I use the SLIM AND LIGHT on any type of flooring?

You can use the SLIM AND LIGHT on any sealed hard surface floor that does not have a wax or no wax finish. This includes hardwood, laminate, vinyl, stone and tile. It is recommended that you check with your flooring manufacture before use. The SLIM AND LIGHT is also safe for use on heat resistant carpeted and upholstered surfaces.

Does the SLIM AND LIGHT really kill germs?

Absolutely! Because the SLIM AND LIGHT emits steam through the pad in excess of 212 degrees Fahrenheit, germs, bacteria, dust mites and allergens are killed almost instantly.

How often do I need to buy new cleaning pads?

The two patented Ultra-Microfiber pads included with your HAAN SLIM AND LIGHT are reusable. You simply toss them in the washing machine - but please do not use fabric softener or bleach. We recommend air drying, but you can also dry them on a low setting in your dryer. The frequency of use impacts the life your pads, but with proper of care can last for several hundred uses.
