What kind of flooring is the Pet Plus safe to use on?

The HAAN floor sanitizer is safe to use on all sealed flooring types, for example laminate, hardwood, tile, vinyl, linoleum, slate, stone & marble. Your floor sanitizer is designed to clean hard floor surfaces that will withstand high heat. Do not use on unsealed wood. We do recommend that you check with your flooring manufacturer prior to use. By attaching the carpet tray, your Pet Plus is also great for sanitizing and refreshing carpets, upholstery and other soft surfaces around the home.

Can you use chemicals in the unit?

No, the HAAN unit is designed to emit a pure vapor, free of chemicals. By adding a chemical you may damage the boiling mechanism.

Is the use of distilled water necessary?

Though we recommend using distilled water, you may use tap water depending on the hardness of your water. HAAN scale remover can be added to the tank every six months to remove the buildup that hard water can cause.

How long does a tank of water last?

A tank should last approximately 15 - 20 minutes.

How long do I need to wait for the HAAN to heat before using?

It takes approximately 2-3 minutes for the HAAN to be ready for use. The black thermal sticker on the fill cap will change colors to orange when the water is heated and ready for use.

What's the difference between Pet Plus Ultra-Microfiber Pads and the regular HAAN pads?

The special Pet Plus™ Pads, included with the unit, are designed with 'noodles' to grab onto pet hair dander and typical household dirt by lifting it off the floor surface and trapping it in the pad.

How do I use the HAAN Steam Scent?

Apply steam scents to the attaching side of HAAN pads in-between the fastening strips. This will emit the scent as steam passes through the cleaning pad.

How do I use the carpet tray?

The Pet Plus has a special carpet tray not featured on other steamers. Prior to attaching the tray, apply steam scents to your carpet tray pad, and attach the pad to your steamer. Attach the carpet tray over the pad. This will allow for the steam scents to be used while refreshing and sanitizing the soft surfaces and rugs in your home.
