2. I noticed that the STEAM READY light kept going off and on while I was steaming with my new HS-20. What's that all about?

That's perfectly normal. It is simply an indication of the unit reheating during use to make more steam.

4. Why can't I open the safety cap during operation?

The high water temperature and pressure inside the tank could present a safety hazard. That's why we designed this special safety cap which can only be opened when the internal pressure and/or water temperature is low.

7. How do I know when the tank is empty?

When there is no more steam coming from the nozzle, your water tank is empty. To refill it, first unplug the unit and press the Control Trigger to release any steam remaining in the tank. Wait at least 3 minutes before opening the safety cap. You may refill the tank and resume steaming once the STEAM READY light comes on.
