HAAN Duo FAQS
My brush roll isn't turning, what should I do?
If the brush is not turning, you will want to clean the brush roll of buildup of hair and carpet fibers. You may also want to make sure the pad is not blocking the brush roll from freely turning.
How do I clean the brush roll?
You can do this by turning the unit upside down and pulling the debris off of the brush roll from the bottom of the unit. You can also remove the dust bin to get to the rotating brush for easier cleaning. Simply pull out any hair, carpet fibers or any other debris that might be wrapped around the rotating brush using your fingers or tweezers.
Can I use water to clean my brush roll?
Yes. With the collection bin removed, you can run water over the brush roll to remove dirt and debris.
How often do I need to empty the collection bin?
It is recommended to empty the collection bin every time you use the Sweeper however you can leave the debris in the bin until it is full.
How do I empty the collection bin?
Remove the collection bin from the main unit, push the small button on the back of the collection bin to release the door of the bin and pull up on the door just above the button. Pour the dirt and dust from the bin into a trash receptacle. When you have finished emptying the collection bin, press the lid of the bin back into place.
Can I clean the collection bin with water?
Yes, if the collection bin has debris stuck inside of it simply remove it from the unit and rinse it with tap water. Let it air dry or dry with a towel before replacing the collection bin.
How do I attach my Ultra-Microfiber cleaning pad to my Duo?
Attach your pad to the DUO pad tray using the loop lock fastening strips on your pad. The DUO can be place directly onto the pad and "clicked" into place. This pad tray should be used any time you are steaming hard flooring surfaces
How do I sweep and steam carpets?
To use on carpets, do not attach the pad tray or pad to the unit. This will allow you to use the DUO on soft flooring surfaces.
How long does a pad last before needing to be changed?
The pad when used correctly should be changed every 10 - 15 minutes, or when the pad is saturated and becomes difficult to push. When heating up your unit, the pad should not be attached. This will cause it to become over-saturated more quickly.
What kind of flooring is the HAAN safe to use on?
The HAAN DUO is safe to use on all sealed surface types; for example laminate, hardwood, tile, vinyl, linoleum, slate, stone & marble. Your floor sanitizer is designed to clean surfaces that will withstand high heat. Do not use on unsealed wood or floors with a wax/no wax finish.
Remove your pad tray so that your steamer can sweep, sanitize, refresh and help deodorize the soft surfaces around your home too.
Can you use chemicals in the unit?
No, the HAAN unit is designed to emit a pure water vapor, free of chemicals. By adding a chemical you may damage the boiling mechanism. Adding chemicals to your machine will void your manufacturer's warranty.
Is the use of distilled water necessary?
Though we recommend using distilled water, you may use plain tap water. Depending on the hardness of your water, you may need to use HAAN lime and scale remover to the tank to remove the buildup that hard water can cause.
How long does a tank of water last?
A tank should last approximately 15 - 20 minutes.
How long do I need to wait for the HAAN to heat before using?
It takes approximately 2-3 minutes for the HAAN to be ready for use. The black thermal sticker on the fill cap will change colors to orange when the water is heated and ready for use. The unit should always be placed on the black resting mat without the pad attached while heating.
